St. Paul’s Carnival

Thousands of people took to the streets to celebrate another St Pauls Carnival.

The event has been going strong since it started as a street party back in 1967.

It’s estimated that this year’s event attract over 80,000 people, far more than last year.

The theme was Afrikan Caribbean Folklore and the participants and displays didn’t disappoint the large crowd that greeted the procession on Saturday.

Dozens of photographers were weaving in, out and around the crowd to get the best shots of the procession as meandered through Portland Square. Luckily I got there early and bagged a good spot.

Looking forward to next year!
